Knit-your-own

(Don't forget the short story competition! Closing date is 14th May!)
Those of you of a whimsical bent can start knitting your veggies now for the Knitted Vegetable Competition, which is part of the 1950s style Miners' Gala Day at the National Coal Mining Museum. Sounds like loads of fun with some special stuff for dads, seeing as it's being held on 17th June - Father's day. Get more details about the day here. You can't just knit any old veggies tho' - oh no, it's serious stuff, this. There's a list of acceptable entries: biggest marrow, corn on the cob, selection of 3 small cakes on a plate, and lots more. Please contact me if you'd like me to forward the whole list.

How about these gorgeous scarves, knitted in soft and luxurious, 80% merino, Mochi Plus? Lovely Three Bags Full knitter and friend, Margaret, currently has these for sale via the shop at £20 each. And possibly the best thing about them is that all proceeds from the sales go to Overgate Hospice.

Come along for a mooch. Nothing quite like a mooch on a holiday weekend, is there?
